Engraved Hudson Bay Fur Trade Cross Maker Mark IkI am listing for you a large engraved triple bar trade cross with hb hudson bay stamp and rarer yellow venitian trade beads. This stunning cross is an exquisite peice of craftmanship displaying a great deal of talent on the artists' behalf with unique decorative zig zag line engravings throughout, a heart adn tear drop shaped cut outs on it's wonderful old world design. Mounted in the very center of the cross is a bold colored adn rarer yellow vaseline glass trade bead. The cross is strung in necklace fashion to the same gorgeous yellow vaseline indian trade beads making them more desirable, dating around the late 1700's to early 1800's. The are strung to the cross with what looks like sinew. tA the top of this extraordinary peice is an artists touchmark with the intials ik john kinzie, 1763 1828. The bottom leg of the cross is stamped with an hb -hudson bay stamp, accompanied yb a montreal mark underneath it. The cross measures 5 ni length by 4 width. It dose show some tarnishing. This is an absolutely beautiful german silver peice and would make an outstanding addition ofr anyone's trade cross collection. On aug-18-08 at 102337 pdt, seller added the following information.
